主要贡献
在我国著名胚胎学家高英茂教授指导下,从事生长因子在胚胎
细胞分化过程中作用的研究, 对与胚胎细胞分化发育密切相关的多种蛋白进行了系统的免疫组化和
分子原位杂交研究。后在著名神经科学学家、新加坡科学院院士Eng Ang Ling (小
胶质细胞的发现者)教授的指导下,从事胶质细胞的起源、功能和各种病理状态下胶质细胞作用机制的研究。对于传统的神经病理和神经
发育生物学研究打下了深厚的理论和实验基础,建立了理想的动物模型,并在体外神经细胞的培养方面对胶质细胞的功能机制进行了深入的研究。期间还在神经发育生物学家S.T. Dheen的
分子神经生物学实验室,利用RT-PCR、microarray differential display等方法对神经发育疾病发生机制进行了更加深入的探索。应著名生物化学和分子生物学家、细胞信号传导分子STAT3的主要研究者、新加坡科学技术委员会(A*STAR)首席科学家Xinmin Cao教授的邀请,进入到新加坡国立分子生物学研究所做高级研究员,并与之进行了合作研究。充分利用分子生物学和生物化学的高技术方法,如:分子克隆(Cloning)、基因剔除(Gene knock-out)、细胞转染(Cell Transfection)、蛋白质分析技术等进一步做关于神经发育机制和功能方面的研究。主要以
神经干细胞和
胚胎干细胞的诱导分化, 信号传导以及它们在临床疾病模型的应用研究作为自己的主要研究方向。
