He was also scheduled as commander for the cancelled 阿波罗19号任务。He later flew five flights as the Commander of the space shuttle Enterprise in 1977年 for the Approach and Landing Test Program at Edwards Air Force Base and was in-line to fly in space again as a Shuttle Commander.
