本故事的主角 Eloise 是一个爱幻想的六岁小女孩，日常生活对她而言总是有各种精彩的历险，她跟照顾她的 Nanny ，还有她养的小狗、乌龟，一同住在纽约的大饭店『Plaza Hotel』 里面，Eloise 喜欢观察来来往往的人们，从当中寻找乐趣。这一天，饭店经理 Salomone 先生十分忙碌，因为有贵客要临门，当他正准备为一位王子举办宴会，防止一切可能出差错的机会，却不料古灵精怪的小女孩 Eloise 已经抢先一步，居然去要求王子当她赴宴的同伴…这位异想天开的小女孩，还同时忙著当起了小红娘，不但要辍合她家庭教师和一位千金小姐的亲事，更帮她的 Nanny 和一位绅士牵红线，另外她更想帮一位失去母亲的小男孩重拾欢颜，虽然这些过程中经历一段不小的混乱，但最后她依然给大家来了欢乐。
